Every June for the past 16 years, people from all across the country head to the little town of Manchester, Tennessee for what has become one of the biggest music festivals in the country. The annual attendance of Bonnaroo hovers between 43,000 and 75,000 concert goers. Manchester is only 60 miles southeast of Nashville and 40 miles northwest of Chattanooga. Inevitably, defense attorneys in the surrounding areas are bombarded by calls in the days and weeks following the festival involving criminal offenses committed by attendees. Most of these arrests are drug-related. The official Bonnaroo website explicitly states that illegal substances of any kind are not allowed on festival grounds.
